Mi-Jung Lee is a Korean-Canadian television personality currently living in Vancouver, BC. As a veteran investigative journalist, Mi-Jung currently appears on CTV British Columbia as the anchor of CTV News at Noon and CTV News at Five.

Mi-Jung’s career in broadcast journalism began in 1990 as a reporter and part-time anchor on Victoria’s CHEK-TV, however the journey that led her to the start of her career began in Choon Chun, South Korea where she was born. When she was four years old, Mi-Jung and her family immigrated to Vancouver, BC. She attended Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and a degree in Journalism from Ryerson University.

While beginning her broadcast journalism career with Victoria’s CHEK-TV, Mi-Jung was the first Korean-Canadian newscaster in British Columbia and one of only a few Asian-Canadians on the air in Canada. Prior to becoming a lead investigative reporter with CTV, Mi-Jung worked at BCTV, Vancouver Television, and Canada AM: Western edition before moving to CTV News at 11:30 p.m. from 2010-2011.

Mi-Jung has won numerous awards for excellence in journalism including a Radio-Television News Directors Associations of Canada (RTNDA) award in 2017 for her coverage of the opioid crisis in Vancouver and a Webster Award in 2016 for best TV reporting when she broke stories about the Sexual Harassment Claims at WestJet. Her investigative journalism work has also included hidden camera investigations about how casinos fail to protect problem gamblers and a “natural health doctor” claiming to cure cancer.

Mi-Jung continues to be active in the greater community and volunteers with several local charities and organizations. In 2008, she travelled to Brazil as an ambassador for World Vision’s Vancouver Campaign for Children. Mi-Jung is a cancer survivor and is a member of CTV’s Ride to Conquer Cancer Team and is currently training for the 250 kilometer bike ride journey in August 2017 from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, Washington.

Besides extensive broadcast journalism experience, Mi-Jung has appeared as a reporter and news anchor in several TV shows and films including: Snakes on a Plane, X-Men: The Last Stand, Tron: Legacy, Hot Rod and Watchmen.
