Connecting Communities
Sharing Stories
Recording Our History
Welcome to the Korean Canadian Stories 150 (KCS150) site, which was initially inspired by Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017. We decided to build a virtual place to connect communities, share our stories, and record our history—of Canadians in Korea from the 1800s to the present; of the legacy of Canadian service and sacrifice in the Korean War and our Veterans’ enduring love of Korea and the Korean people; of the 1st pioneering Koreans in Canada and those who have followed in their footsteps and are contributing to Canadian society from coast to coast to coast; and of the Canadians who are connected to Korea, to the people of Korea and/or to Korean Canadians in a way that is meaningful to them. Individuals with special links to Korea make them Korean Ambassadors wherever they go. Sincere thanks to the KCS150 team and to all the contributors whose stories and timeline information have been uploaded to the site. Enjoy the unique and heartfelt stories; and learn about the long and deep-rooted friendship between Canada and Korea that began in the 1800’s. And if you so choose, please submit your story to be woven into the Korean Canadian Stories!
